Palmer Gas & Oil is looking to hire a Installation Technician to join their growing team!


SUMMARY
Provides customer service and satisfaction by specializing in residential, commercial, and industrial tank and equipment installations in a manner that supports the company’s commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.

HOURS:
Normal work schedule is 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a 1/2-hour lunch break.
Must be available to work beyond normal business hours as needed. During our busy seasons, additional hours may be required to meet our business needs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for efficient communication, harmonious interaction, and support of co-workers and management team members:
  • Specializes in installations.
  • Drives vehicle safely and to perform requested service at customer’s home or place of business to meet customer requirements and company productivity goals.
  • Responds and drives to scheduled service call by dispatch.
  • Responsible for safe installation of aboveground/underground indoor/outdoor gas piping, meters, regulators, appliances, and all associated equipment.
  • Responsible for safe installation of aboveground/underground propane containers.
  • Performs final connections, gas checks, tank inspections, and safety inspections at residential, commercial, and industrial locations.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on jurisdictional systems.
  • Responsible for design, construction, installation, inspection, and maintenance of commercial and industrial equipment, including but not limited to propane dispensing systems, vaporizers, bulk storage systems, etc. at customer locations and on company property.
  • Performs propane emergency response operations, propane tank evacuations, and propane tank repairs.
  • Maintains all required paperwork associated with service installations and service maintenance calls.
  • Maintains necessary stock and tools in vehicle as appropriate.
  • Responsible for maintaining external appearance and both internal and external cleanliness of service vehicle.
  • Responsible for training and mentoring new and existing employees.

  • Communicate challenges, solutions, developments, and updates to appropriate team members (e.g., coordinator, supervisor, or manager)
  • Must be available to work outside normal business hours as needed when schedule, and in emergency situations.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic devices.
  • Assists in performing tasks of other personnel within the department as needed.
  • Works on various projects and jobs assigned by the manager.
  • At the end of each job, call into dispatch to clear and confirm next job and refresh your tablet.
  • If additional work is needed at the customer’s location, schedule a follow up note.
  • Required to wear company provided uniforms.
  • Always maintains and promotes company brand guidelines and core values (Friendly, Simple, Safe).
