The position follows a steady daytime schedule, Monday through Friday, and involves no residential service work.

Responsibilities

  • Install and run commercial plumbing systems, including cast iron, PVC, venting systems, and related piping according to project specifications and local codes.
  • Perform plumbing installation tasks on new construction projects such as multi-family and mixed-use commercial buildings.
  • Read and follow directions, plans, and layouts provided by the Plumbing Foreman and project leadership.
  • Assist with layout, measuring, cutting, threading, assembling, and installing pipes and fixtures using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Ensure all plumbing work complies with Massachusetts plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Coordinate with other trades on-site to maintain efficient workflow and avoid conflicts in installation areas.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and materials.
  • Follow all OSHA 10 safety practices and site-specific safety protocols at all times.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues as they arise, escalating complex problems to the Plumbing Foreman.

Essential Skills

  • Massachusetts Journeyman Plumbing License or active Massachusetts Plumbing Apprenticeship (3rd or 4th year).
  • Proven commercial plumbing installation experience, particularly in new construction environments.
  • Hands-on experience with cast iron, PVC, venting systems, and general piping installation.
  • Ability to perform plumbing installation and pipefitting tasks safely and efficiently.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Capability to follow directions from a Plumbing Foreman and work effectively as part of a crew.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to job sites.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing codes and safety standards relevant to commercial construction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working on multi-family and mixed-use commercial buildings.
  • Experience in commercial new construction projects, including multi-story structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other trades on active construction sites.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Willingness to take initiative and grow skills through exposure to larger and more complex projects.

Why Work Here?

You will join a company that values long-term growth, both financially and in terms of career progression, offering consistent work on reputable, high-quality projects. Leadership maintains an open line of communication and takes employee feedback seriously, fostering a respectful culture where team members feel heard and supported. The work environment emphasizes strong crew relationships, mutual respect, and a commitment to taking care of employees, contributing to a stable and rewarding place to build your career.

Work Environment

The role is based on commercial new construction sites, primarily multi-family and mixed-use office/apartment buildings. Initial assignments include a five-story, 31-unit building in Roslindale (approximately 10% mixed-use and 90% commercial multi-family) and a subsequent 100-unit new build in Cambridge. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., following a steady daytime schedule.
