RENTAL SHOP MANAGER


BASIC FUNCTION

The Rental Manager is responsible for the shops financial growth, and all daily operations. The Manager leads employees to create and maintain an exceptional ski/board rental experience for customers and employees. The Manager also oversees the day-to-day operations of staff training, labor control, guest service, and profit centers. The Rental Manager is required to regularly and customarily exercise discretion in managing the overall operation.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of Rental Center, equipment, employees, and training. This includes but is not limited to staffing, budgeting, sales and marketing responsibilities as outlined below.
  • Creation of specific position descriptions for Rental Department positions with the approval of the President, Snowsports Director, and Human Resources Director and all hiring procedures.
  • Work closely with Snowsports Desk staff on Learn To Ski/Ride rentals and packages.
  • Monitoring of Rental Center pricing in relation to competitors. Ensure that is appropriate in the market. Work closely with the Marketing Department on the promotion of approved programs.
  • Oversee the inventory and maintenance of all equipment and uniforms necessary to maintain the standards set forth by the resort.
  • Work closely with all managers in an effort to maintain and improve resort's quality of experience for its guests.
  • Actively promote safe skiing/snowboarding by educating the staff and public as to the "Responsibility Code" and common sense rules of skiing/snowboarding.
  • Maintain, update, and execute operations plans.
  • Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Administrative and functional supervision, direct or indirect of 8 employees.


SUPERVISION RECIEVED
Direction is received from the Ski and Ride School Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Skis and Snowboards
  • 5+ Years of experience in the rental and retail industry
  • 3+ Years of experience in managing or supervising
  • Must have the ability to adapt to unexpected situations
  • Must be able to remain calm and portray a friendly demeanor in stressful situations
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and occasional evenings
  • Must be able to successfully pass drug screening and background check
