About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Device Test Technician to join our team for a 12-month, on-site contract. This role involves performing a variety of mechanical, electrical, and visual tests on medical devices, specifically heart catheters. You’ll work closely with engineers, following established test methods and protocols to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
This position is ideal for someone with prior experience in a medical device or R&D setting, who enjoys hands-on work and can stay focused in a lab environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical, electrical, conditioning, length, OD (outer diameter), and visual tests on heart catheters.
Conduct both simple and complex testing following written procedures and verbal instructions.
Work primarily in a lab environment (85% lab / 15% desk work).
Maintain accurate and clear documentation of test results using data sheets and Microsoft Office tools.
Communicate effectively with engineers, providing feedback on test results, potential issues, and process improvements.
Manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks based on project deadlines.
Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices while performing all tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a medical device testing or R&D environment.
Familiarity with test methods and good documentation practices (GDP).
Comfortable using lab tools and equipment such as:
Calipers
MTS systems
Multimeters
Digital thermometers
Force gages
Cognex systems
LabView software
Basic hand tools
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
Some experience drafting documents is a plus.
Proactive communicator with the ability to work effectively within a team.
