BOSTON MS - Advertising Sales Representative
Job Description
Job Description
Advertising Sales Representative
Boston MS hospitality market. Candidates based in or reasonably accessible to the territory are preferred.
Love the open road, meeting new people, and being your own boss? Regal Publications is growing its advertising sales team and looking for self-motivated sales pros to build advertiser relationships in some of the country's best hospitality markets. This role puts you on the road for real stretches at a time (typically 1–3 weeks per trip) prospecting, closing deals, and exploring a new city along the way — and hotel stays are covered by our partner hotel network the whole time you're out there.
This opportunity is best suited for experienced sales professionals who love the freedom of the field — meeting business owners face-to-face, running their own territory, and thriving in a performance-based, uncapped commission environment. You'll be selling advertising space — much of it digital — in Regal's in-room hotel guest directories to local businesses eager to reach hotel guests and travelers.

Who We Are
Regal Publications has been the esteemed trailblazer in hospitality customized in-room guest directories for over four decades. With a commitment to quality, Regal Publications elevates the guest experience with its informative directories. Each directory thoughtfully encompasses essential details of the property's amenities, local attractions, and community highlights, offering guests a comprehensive guide right at their fingertips. It serves as an indispensable companion for travelers, making Regal Publications the most distinguished choice in the service industry.
What You'll Do
- Prospect local businesses eager to reach hotel guests and travelers, in person and by phone or email
- Identify decision-makers and turn them into advertising partners
- Present Regal's advertising opportunities with confidence, and follow up consistently until the deal closes
- Manage your own sales pipeline and territory activity
- Travel your assigned market for extended stretches — this is a road-first role
- Check in with Regal regularly on your territory's progress
Compensation & Support
This is a 1099 independent contractor role with uncapped, commission-based earnings — the more advertiser relationships you build and close, the more you make. There's no cap on how many advertisers you can bring on, even within the same category, since Regal doesn't offer exclusivity — just aim for variety over duplicates (a chain pizza spot, a New York–style shop, and a vegan option, say, rather than five versions of the same thing). Income is variable and tied to your own activity, so candidates should be financially prepared for the ramp-up period before their first commission lands.
You won't be doing this cold: Regal provides training and onboarding, lead lists when available, and weekly team sales meetings are part of the role. Many territories also offer renewal business from existing advertisers.
Life on the Road
This is a road-first role. Expect to be in the field for extended stretches — typically 1–3 weeks at a time — before heading home, with hotel stays covered by our partner hotel network for the duration.
Regal provides complimentary hotel accommodations for approved sales projects. Representatives are responsible for their own everyday travel expenses, including meals and gas, and hotels typically require a valid credit card at check-in for personal incidentals. Since commissions are paid as sales are processed and collected, we recommend planning ahead for these routine expenses during the initial ramp-up period.
To make the most of it, you should:
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for work-related travel
- Be comfortable driving and working independently throughout your territory
- Be ready for extended time away from home — typically 1–3 weeks per trip
- Be able to manage travel, prospecting, and follow-up on your own
Who Thrives Here
You might be a great fit if you:
- Genuinely enjoy prospecting and building new business, and don't mind cold calling or walking into a business unannounced
- Can shake off rejection, follow up consistently, and build rapport easily with owners and decision-makers
- Work well independently, stay organized across multiple prospects, and are comfortable with uncapped, commission-based pay
- Would rather be in the field — and on the road for extended stretches — than behind a desk
We love backgrounds in advertising, media, outside, territory, hospitality, or tourism sales, merchant services, sponsorship or event advertising, independent sales representation, or small-business B2B sales — though direct advertising experience isn't required. Familiarity with digital advertising or ad tech platforms is a real plus, since most of what you'll be selling is digital.
This probably isn't the right fit if you need to work primarily from inbound leads, require close day-to-day supervision, want a desk-based or fully remote role, need guaranteed income rather than commission, or can't be away from home for multi-week stretches.
