Lead Salesforce Developer / Architect

We are a mission-driven, fast-growing nonprofit organization operating at the forefront of the “Food is Medicine” movement. Each year, we provide over 1 million medically tailored meals to individuals and families facing serious illness and food insecurity, while advancing health equity and strengthening local food systems.
We are seeking a Salesforce Architect & Platform Lead to own and evolve our Salesforce ecosystem. This is a high-impact leadership role that blends strategy, architecture, hands-on delivery, and team leadership.
About the Role
As the Salesforce Architect & Platform Lead, you will serve as the technical and strategic owner of our Salesforce platform and integrated systems. You’ll partner closely with business leaders to design scalable solutions, lead platform initiatives end-to-end, and drive operational excellence across the organization.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats—architect, builder, strategist, and leader—in a collaborative, mission-oriented environment.
What You’ll Do
Salesforce Strategy & Architecture
- Translate business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions and system designs
- Define and maintain architecture standards, governance, and best practices
- Own data models, automation strategy, and cross-platform design
Hands-On Salesforce Leadership
- Lead configuration, customization, and development (Flows, Apex, LWC, SOQL)
- Own Salesforce architecture across Sales, Service, and Experience Clouds
- Continuously optimize performance, scalability, and maintainability
Project Delivery
- Drive Salesforce initiatives from discovery through implementation
- Manage priorities, timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations
- Coordinate across internal teams, vendors, and leadership
Integrations & Systems
- Architect and manage integrations with third-party platforms (ETL, middleware, operational systems)
- Ensure data integrity, security, and governance across systems
- Evaluate and implement new tools to support operational goals
Data & Platform Ownership
- Establish data governance, quality standards, and reporting strategy
- Define and maintain a multi-year platform roadmap
- Ensure platform compliance, scalability, and reliability
Team Leadership
- Mentor and support Salesforce administrators/developers
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and team development efforts
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical challenges
What You Bring
Experience
- 8+ years of progressive Salesforce experience, including architecture or lead responsibilities
- Proven track record leading Salesforce implementations and cross-functional initiatives
- Hands-on experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud
- Experience with system integrations and third-party tools
- Background in regulated or sensitive data environments (HIPAA strongly preferred)
Technical Skills
- Expertise in Salesforce data architecture, security, and automation
- Strong hands-on skills with Flows, Apex, SOQL, and Lightning components
- Experience with integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Workato, Make, Skyvia)
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Strong business partnering and consultative mindset
- Excellent communication across technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and influence stakeholders
