Step into a rewarding part-time contract role supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a dynamic educational environment near Cambridge, MA. This opportunity begins right away and is scheduled through March 2026, with the potential to discuss an extension through June. You'll have the chance to partner closely with experienced Teachers of the Deaf and contribute to a collaborative, student-focused team.
This flexible position offers ideally 10-15 hours per week, and the district is eager to align caseloads and age group preferences to best match your expertise and interests. The full-time Teacher of the Deaf's caseload has expanded district-wide, creating an immediate need for an additional dedicated educator. You'll have direct input into your assignments and a strong partnership with existing staff, allowing you to provide meaningful, individualized support.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification
- Previous experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt readily to varying student needs and settings
- Commitment to fostering inclusive learning experiences
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with district staff to develop IEP goals and modifications
- Consult with families, teachers, and other service providers
- Participate in student planning meetings and provide progress updates
- Tailor instructional approaches to meet diverse student needs
