Job Description
Job Description
Cape Cod Select is seeking a resourceful, highly organized Marketing & Projects Lead to coordinate and lead a variety of exciting marketing and product development initiatives. Projects span across general marketing, advertising, digital marketing, e-commerce, social media, product development, retail marketing, sales support and more.
Your creative and strategic input is equally important to your organizational and project management skills.
As a growing, family-owned company, our positions do not always fit neatly within one department. The person in this role will work across several areas of the business and help turn ideas into completed projects.
This is not a narrowly focused digital-marketing position, nor are we looking for someone who is already an expert in every platform or discipline. We are looking for someone who can understand an objective, organize the necessary steps, coordinate internal and outside resources, learn unfamiliar subject matter and keep projects moving through completion.
The ideal candidate is curious, practical and eager to take on meaningful responsibility. They should be comfortable working independently while knowing when to bring important decisions or recommendations to company leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
E-Commerce and Digital Marketing Projects
- Help lead the development and growth of Cape Cod Select’s direct-to-consumer e-commerce business.
- Coordinate initiatives involving the company website, Amazon, Meta, TikTok Shop and other relevant sales channels.
- Work with outside agencies, consultants, developers and digital-advertising specialists.
- Help establish project objectives, responsibilities, timelines and deliverables.
- Coordinate the development of advertising artwork, product content, photography, product listings and other marketing assets.
- Monitor the progress of digital-marketing and e-commerce projects and ensure that agreed-upon work is completed.
- Help review performance information and identify practical next steps.
- Research new platforms, technologies and service providers as needed.
Product, Packaging and Brand Projects
- Coordinate product-development and product-launch projects from initial concept through commercialization.
- Manage packaging and artwork projects in partnership with graphic designers, printers, packaging suppliers and internal team members.
- Organize artwork revisions, product information, approvals and deadlines.
- Support product-line expansions, packaging updates and brand-development initiatives.
- Coordinate marketing materials and advertising assets for new and existing products.
- Maintain organized records of project status, outstanding questions, required approvals and next steps.
- Help ensure that products, packaging and supporting materials are ready for launch.
Vendor and Project Management
- Identify and research agencies, consultants, vendors and other outside resources.
- Conduct initial interviews and gather proposals.
- Compare capabilities, pricing, timing and proposed approaches.
- Present organized options and recommendations to company leadership.
- Manage selected vendors after they are hired.
- Schedule meetings, document decisions and follow up on open items.
- Hold outside partners accountable for agreed-upon timelines, scope and quality.
- Identify delays or problems early and help develop potential solutions.
Sales and Broker Support
- Help coordinate requests from Cape Cod Select’s national broker network.
- Respond to requests directly or organize the information needed from other employees.
- Coordinate product information, sales materials, images, samples, forms and account-specific documents.
- Track open requests and ensure that deadlines are met.
- Assist with retailer presentations, customer submissions, new-item opportunities and product-line reviews.
- Work with administrative employees to complete routine paperwork and data-entry requests.
- Help improve the organization and efficiency of recurring sales-support processes.
General Business Projects
- Take ownership of special projects that may not fit within a traditional department.
- Research unfamiliar business challenges and develop a working understanding of the available options.
- Organize information and present recommendations to company leadership.
- Coordinate projects involving several employees, vendors or areas of the business.
- Help develop repeatable systems and processes as the company grows.
- Assist with hands-on project work when necessary to keep initiatives moving.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this position means:
- Projects continue moving without constant reminders from company leadership.
- Responsibilities, deadlines and next steps are clearly documented.
- Vendors, consultants and internal employees receive the information they need.
- Delays, missing information and unresolved decisions are identified early.
- Broker and customer requests are answered accurately and on time.
- E-commerce, product and marketing initiatives progress from ideas into completed programs.
- Problems are researched independently and brought to leadership with potential solutions.
- Important details do not get lost as projects move between employees, vendors and departments.
- Leadership receives concise updates that explain what has been completed, what is behind schedule and what decisions are needed.
Desired Qualifications
- Approximately two to five years of experience in marketing, project coordination, e-commerce, product development, sales support, account management or a related business role.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work effectively with designers, agencies, consultants, salespeople, vendors and operational employees.
- Comfortable researching unfamiliar subjects and learning new systems.
- Ability to compare options, organize information and make thoughtful recommendations.
- Good judgment regarding which decisions can be handled independently and which should be brought to leadership.
- Proficiency with standard office software and the ability to learn new e-commerce and business platforms.
- Experience in consumer packaged goods, food, retail, Amazon, Shopify or digital advertising is helpful but not required.
Who Will Thrive in This Position
This position is well suited for someone who has developed a strong foundation in a marketing, agency, e-commerce, sales-support or project-coordination role and is ready for more ownership.
The right person does not need to personally design every advertisement, build a website or manage every advertising platform. However, they must be able to understand the objective, find the appropriate resources, ask informed questions and manage the work through completion.
They should be someone who:
- Enjoys learning about new subjects.
- Naturally creates plans, timelines and task lists.
- Follows up persistently but professionally.
- Is comfortable working in an environment where priorities may evolve.
- Brings possible solutions rather than simply reporting problems.
- Can move between creative, organizational and administrative work.
- Is willing to handle detailed tasks as well as larger projects.
- Takes pride in seeing projects completed correctly.
- Wants an opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing company.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who is ready to move beyond a traditional support position and take responsibility for complete projects across several areas of a growing consumer-products business.
