Join a dynamic and high-acuity Emergency Department that thrives on collaboration, critical thinking, and delivering excellent patient care. Our ED supports a diverse and complex patient population with a strong team-based approach and cutting-edge equipment.

Unit Overview:

  • Total Beds:
    • 4 secure beds in a locked psychiatric Annex
    • 25 procedure rooms (private or curtained)
    • 8 hallway beds (utilized 24/7)

  • Patient Ratio: 4:1 (with flexibility during surge periods)

Patient Population

Our ED treats a wide variety of high-acuity patients, including:

  • Patients with multiple comorbidities
  • Complex cardiac cases (NEHI – New England Heart Institute)
  • Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), Sepsis, Stroke, Trauma
  • Psychiatric emergencies

Typical Procedures Performed:

  • Trauma response
  • Stroke care
  • Laceration repair
  • Orthopedic trauma management
  • Ultrasound-guided IV and IO insertions
  • EKGs and eye exams
  • Cardiopulmonary and psychiatric interventions

Technology & Equipment:

  • EMR: Sunrise / Allscripts
  • Equipment: Alaris pumps, Pyxis system, Ultrasound IV insertion tools, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-Have Qualifications (Required for Contract Roles):

  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience (for contract labor)
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications
  • Strong communication and assessment skills
  • Adaptability and critical thinking
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology (especially for department coordinators)

Certifications Required:

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCCrequired for contract staff, preferred for others
