Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Paraprofessional Certification or an Associate’s Degree (required)
- Previous experience working as a paraprofessional in an elementary school (preferred)
- Knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting students with intellectual disabilities and/or autism (highly desirable)
- Excellent communication, patience, and teamwork skills
- Ability to start as soon as possible and commit through June 12, 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 support and guidance for a single elementary student throughout the school day
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Assist with daily activities, academic tasks, and personal care needs as appropriate
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to implement IEP goals and accommodations
- Observe and document the student’s progress, challenges, and achievements
- Adapt support strategies to meet individual needs and developmental levels
