A professional registered nurse is sought for a contract position in a hospital setting, providing skilled care across multiple Med/Surg telemetry units. This role requires adaptability and expertise in cardiac monitoring, with responsibility for reading telemetry strips, managing cardiac drips, and supporting diverse patient populations including emergency department border patients and those in the acute mental health unit.
Responsibilities include floating among eight different hospital units, delivering comprehensive nursing care consistent with best practices. The role involves working night shifts and every other weekend for a total of 36 hours per week, requiring competency in telemetry monitoring and acute care.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
- Minimum of two years acute care hospital nursing experience
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac strips every four hours
- Experience with TR Band and cardiac drip management
- Current Massachusetts RN license and AHA BLS certification
- Ability to work effectively in varied patient care environments and maintain patient ratios consistent with hospital standards
- Competency with EPIC electronic medical records system
