Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This contract position seeks an experienced paraprofessional to support students in a school environment. The role requires approximately 30 hours per week and is located in Westfield, MA. Candidates should have prior experience working with behavioral challenges and be adept at data collection to support student progress and intervention plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering individualized instructional support to students
- Manage and support students exhibiting behavioral needs with patience and understanding
- Collect and document behavioral and academic data accurately and consistently
- Collaborate with educators and staff to implement behavior management strategies
- Support inclusion efforts by facilitating student engagement in classroom activities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous paraprofessional experience, particularly in school settings, is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children exhibiting behavioral challenges
- Skilled in data collection methods relevant to educational and behavioral support
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a student-centered approach to support learning
