Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a collaborative school environment near Newport, NH. We are seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year (September–June) to provide targeted instructional services across multiple educational settings. This part-time contract role involves 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a flexible approach to on-site or remote instruction.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for New Hampshire, or eligibility to obtain.
- Proven experience with direct instruction in special education settings, particularly with middle and high school students.
- Familiarity with Wilson Reading Instruction methodology preferred.
- Ability to effectively adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning needs and environments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with various schools.
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering 5 hours per week of Wilson Reading Instruction to a middle school student.
- Providing 20 additional hours of special education instruction at the high school, charter school, and Montessori locations within the district.
- Designing individualized lesson plans that target specific student learning goals.
- Maintaining consistent, clear communication with school staff and administrators regarding student progress.
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive educational atmosphere in each setting.
- Assisting with remote instruction as needed if an on-site presence cannot be secured.
