Job Description

At CyberArk, we are reinventing Identity Security and Identity Governance. Join us to build a world-class solution with a simple and intuitive user experience that stands apart from the complex products in the IT & Security space.

As a Staff Software Engineer at CyberArk, you will own and drive larger technical initiatives end-to-end, from shaping problem spaces to delivering scalable solutions that span teams and services. We are looking for engineers who work cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, customer success, and as required, directly with customers.

What you will do:

  • Lead technical initiatives across Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), from problem discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and long-term ownership.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, translating ambiguous business and product problems into well-designed technical solutions.
  • Drive delivery across multiple teams, coordinating dependencies, setting technical direction, and unblocking execution.
  • Design, develop, and ship production systems that are scalable, reliable, and aligned with long-term architectural goals.
  • Partner closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to influence roadmap decisions and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across teams, multiplying impact through design reviews, code reviews, and informal coaching.
  • Continuously improve engineering practices, including system architecture, tooling, and delivery processes.
  • Represent engineering in cross-functional efforts, working with customer success, sales engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure solutions meet real customer needs.
  • Act as a technical point of accountability for complex initiatives, even without formal people-management responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex technical initiatives that span multiple services, teams, or domains, with clear ownership from design through delivery.
  • Strong full-stack design and development background, grounded in solid software engineering fundamentals. While our stack is MEAN, we value architectural judgment and adaptability over specific technologies.
  • Deep understanding of modern SaaS architectures, including API design, cloud-native deployment, scalability, reliability, and service observability.
  • Proven ability to make high-quality technical tradeoffs, balancing speed of delivery with long-term platform health and maintainability.
  • Track record of operating effectively in ambiguous problem spaces, asking the right questions and shaping solutions before requirements are fully formed.
  • Natural technical leadership and influence, demonstrated through mentoring, design reviews, and raising the bar for engineering quality across teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills, especially when working with product, design, and non-engineering stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule in the Newton, MA area.
