Compensation: $135,000 – $175,000 annually

We are partnering with a leading life sciences AEC organization to identify an Electrical Engineer IV who will provide technical leadership and project-level oversight for the design and execution of advanced electrical systems.
Job Overview
The Electrical Engineer IV serves as a senior technical and discipline leader, responsible for overseeing electrical engineering scope across projects of varying sizes and complexities. This role leads the design, coordination, and delivery of power, lighting, grounding, and special electrical systems while managing discipline budgets, schedules, and quality.
The successful candidate brings deep technical expertise, experience working in regulated manufacturing environments, and the ability to direct engineering teams through all phases of design and construction.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Design

Lead the design and engineering of electrical systems including:

Power distribution and load analysis

Interior and exterior lighting systems
-
Grounding and bonding systems
-
Special systems such as data/telecom, security, and fire alarm

Raceway, cable tray, and control systems
-

Perform and review advanced engineering calculations, including power load, illumination, short-circuit, voltage drop, and coordination studies

Develop basis-of-design narratives, one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, specifications, and installation details

Ensure compliance with NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, IEEE, and applicable building codes
Project & Team Leadership

Lead and manage electrical discipline execution across simple to highly complex projects

Direct workflows of electrical engineers and designers (entry-level through senior)

Manage discipline scope, budgets, schedules, and resource planning

Partner with Project Managers on proposal development, task identification, man-hour planning, and scheduling

Serve as a primary technical interface with clients and external partners
Coordination & Construction Support

Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and manufacturers

Lead quality control reviews of complex electrical deliverables

Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reporting

Identify and resolve non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and field surveys

Participate in commissioning and field support activities as needed
Mentorship & Standards

Mentor and develop less experienced electrical engineers and designers

Develop and deliver internal electrical design and engineering training

Drive technical consistency, quality, and best practices across projects
Skills & ExperienceRequired
-
ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology

Minimum 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering design

Professional Engineer (PE) license required

Relevant AEC firm experience

Advanced experience designing electrical systems for complex facilities

Strong working knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and building regulations

Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting GMP or regulated manufacturing environments

Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD

Advanced experience with BIM tools and cross-discipline coordination

Experience conducting and leading field surveys and supporting construction reporting

Strong coordination experience with trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers

Intermediate experience in troubleshooting electrical and systems issues

Willingness to travel for project execution and professional development
