Crotched Mountain School & Village, a program of Seven Hills New Hampshire, is looking for a Residential Counselor to join our outstanding team of professionals dedicated to enhancing the lives of our students.

About Crotched Mountain School:

Crotched Mountain School (CMS), a program of Seven Hills New Hampshire, hosts innovative special education, recreation, arts, music, and vocational programming for students, aged 5-21, who are on the autism spectrum, and/or have disabilities and other challenges that are better supported in an alternative, least-restrictive environment to their local public school system. Students have the option to live year-round in the appointed residences on the sprawling campus located in Greenfield, New Hampshire. Situated on thousands of acres of preserved habitat, CMS offers a therapeutic environment in which students are encouraged to explore and thrive.

Residential Counselor Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Align student education and residential services with IEP and ILP plans.

· Assist residents with residential programs and daily routines.

· Complete required record-keeping, data collection, and documentation.

· Select and supervise activities suited to each resident’s capabilities.

· Attend program and behavior meetings, orientation, and training sessions.

· Perform household chores, with or without student assistance.

· Ensure residents are dressed appropriately, respecting their rights and dignity.

· Advocate for and protect clients' rights per current policies and procedures.

· Maintain a mature and positive attitude with residents, staff, and guardians.

· Perform other duties as directed.

Hours:

Residential Counselors work on a 4-day work week. There are 4 shifts to choose from and overtime is available to pick up hours on different days if interested.

· Front End: Sunday 7:00 am – 10:00 pm, Monday-Wednesday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm

· Back End: Wednesday-Friday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm, and Saturday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm

· Front End Overnight: Sunday-Wednesday 9:45 pm – 7:15 am

· Back End Overnight: Wednesday- Saturday 9:45 pm – 7:15 am

If you are interested in working a DAY SHIFT, Monday – Friday, we are also hiring Paraeducators to work 1-1 with our students from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm!

Qualifications:

· Must be at least 21 years old.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· High school diploma or equivalent, plus ONE of the following:

    • Associate degree or higher with a minimum of 12 credits in Human Services, Education, Counseling, Psychology, or Related Field.
    • Parent of a child over 7 years old.
    • 2 years of full-time paid or volunteer experience working with children (3000 hours )
    • A combination of college credits in the field and experience working with children that totals 2 years.
