Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent specializing in Civil and Marine projects. The ideal candidate will oversee construction activities on various sites, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality controls, and project timelines. The Superintendent will coordinate with subcontractors, manage crews, and serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations on construction sites and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and labor crews to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
- Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and subcontractors, to ensure alignment and transparency on project status.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, including any changes to project schedules and budgets.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain project schedules and resource allocation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision, specifically in marine and heavy civil projects.
- Proven experience with marine construction, bridge work, waterfront restoration, and marine structures.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience with cofferdams and piling operations is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
