Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher is needed to provide specialized educational support in a vibrant K-5 setting during the extended school year. This contract role is based in Southbridge, MA, and offers an opportunity to positively influence the academic and social growth of students with diverse learning needs.

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts Special Education certification required
  • In-depth knowledge of learning disabilities and tailored educational strategies
  • Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)

  • Experience working with K-5 students in special education environments
  • Ability to customize curriculum and instructional approaches to meet diverse needs

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and regularly assess IEPs for students requiring special education services
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel to foster an inclusive classroom experience
  • Maintain open communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and needs
  • Adapt instructional materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners
  • Support students in social and emotional development
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and ongoing professional development
