About Client

A long-standing all-girls residential camp in New Hampshire with a culture built around safety, community, and intentional preparation. The Health Center operates as a close-knit, well-resourced team—led by the Camp Directors, Camp Physician, and Head Nurse—where nurses are set up for success well before the first camper arrives.

  • Shift: Fully residential and on-site; approximately 13 days of paid pre-camp training precede the season

Job Summary

A hands-on clinical nursing role embedded within the daily life of a residential all-girls camp. Beyond routine medical care, this position calls for a visible, trusted presence across the camp community—someone equally comfortable managing health protocols and offering reassurance to a homesick camper. Structured clinic hours, shared on-call coverage, and a well-prepared team define the working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat everyday illnesses, injuries, and health concerns among campers and staff throughout the season.

  • Conduct health screenings for all campers and staff on arrival day.

  • Respond to urgent and emergency medical situations promptly and competently.

  • Monitor general health and wellness patterns across the broader camp population.

  • Dispense daily medications accurately and in full compliance with established protocols.

  • Maintain thorough, current medical records including MARs, logs, and required reports.

  • Adhere to standing orders and medical directives set by the Camp Physician.

  • Assist in preparing and organizing the Health Center during the pre-season training period.

  • Keep medical supplies, equipment, and first aid kits stocked and properly maintained throughout camp.

  • Communicate directly with parents or guardians regarding camper health concerns as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Camp Physician, Head Nurse, and Directors as an active member of the care team.

  • Participate in staff health and safety training sessions.

  • Maintain a visible, approachable presence across camp; offer emotional support and calm reassurance to campers navigating health or adjustment concerns.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

  • Eligibility to obtain New Hampshire RN licensure (reimbursed if needed).

  • Female candidate; required by the nature of the all-girls residential camp environment.

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Minimum of one year of experience working with children or adolescents.

  • Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate health records and care plans.

  • Effective communicator with families, colleagues, and leadership.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Professional background in school nursing, pediatrics, camp or community health, or emergency/urgent care settings.

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit clinical team.

  • Warm, steady presence; at ease in a dynamic, community-oriented environment.

  • Prior experience in a residential or day camp health center setting.
