The Adult Learning Center is seeking a dedicated Accuplacer Math Teacher to prepare adult learners for the Accuplacer exam, the entrance test for the community college system. This role is ideal for an educator who understands the unique needs of adult learners, creates a supportive classroom environment, and helps students gain the math skills needed for success. The Accuplacer Math Teacher will work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and outside organizations.
Classes are held at Nashua Community College located at 525 Amherst Street in Nashua.
The scheduled Fall start date is September 2, 2025.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver instruction using a variety of educational and enrichment activities appropriate for the levels and goals of students
· Assess student progress using the TABE math assessment and other tools.
· Encourage attendance through phone calls or emails to absent students
· Integrate technology into lessons and adapt teaching to various learning styles.
· Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
· Maintain accurate attendance and test records (LACES)
· Inventory and request supplies and materials
· Provide monthly updates and year-end reports to the Director of Adult Education
· Administer Accuplacer test at end of semester
Job Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with concentration in math, elementary education, special education, adult education or related field.
