Phillips Academy seeks an experienced aquatics professional to join the Academy in the newly created Aquatics Director position. The Aquatics Director is a member of the Phillips Academy Business Office and drives the management of the natatorium, overall aquatics facility, and supports the various programs offered by the Academy. The Aquatics Director will also play a key role in the front-line operations of the aquatic’s facility, will work to increase the aquatics facility revenue, and will fill in as needed with any / all direct service. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt staff positionwith evening and weekend responsibilities. The Aquatics Director is responsible for performing essential functions for continuity of athletic programming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Develops, implements, and oversees a variety of aquatics programs, including interscholastic and recreational, for the public, students, faculty, staff, including rental agreements during the academic year and Summer Session program.</li>
<li>Develops and proposes pro forma budgets for third party use of the Academy’s aquatic facility.</li>
<li>Assists with the development of budgetary needs of the aquatic equipment and training expenses.</li>
<li>Oversees outside entity requests to use natatorium and use of facility.</li>
<li>Ensures pool is compliant with all local, state, and national requirements and that all appropriate water, environmental, and health and safety standards are maintained.</li>
<li>Organizes, in collaboration with the Phillips Academy Athletic department, PE department, and other departments on campus, a master calendar for use of the aquatic’s facility.</li>
<li>Coaches one aquatic sports including swimming, water polo, and diving, assigned collaboratively between the Dean of Faculty’s Office, the Athletics Department and the Business Office. A stipend will be available if additional seasons are coached. </li>
<li>Supervises, trains, evaluates, and advises lifeguards and is responsible for the recruiting and hiring of lifeguard staff in partnership with Human Resources.</li>

<li>Provides and coordinates proper on deck supervision of staff and appropriate levels of lifeguard coverage.</li>
<li>Provides safety assistance, rescues, emergency actions and first aid when necessary.</li>
<li>Develops and implements ongoing lifeguard in-service training.</li>
<li>Maintains aquatic facility upkeep providing the highest attention to safety for participants and employees including proper on deck supervision of staff, appropriate levels of lifeguard coverage, lifeguard attentiveness, and proper lifeguard rotations.</li>
<li>Keeps detailed records of in-service training, water testing, accident reports, critical incident, and incident reports.</li>
<li>Other duties and responsibilities as needed and as assigned.</li>

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification and Licensing Requirements:

<li>Must have a minimum of three to five (3-5) years commensurate experience in an aquatics management position and experience coaching.</li>
<li>Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required.</li>
<li>Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred.</li>

 JOB SUMMARY Tenacity is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Director of The Summer Program to lead and oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of Tenacitys summer programs across Boston. This leadership position supports year-round programming and plays a key role in ensuring program excellence, staff development, and effective partnership management. 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Recruit, supervise and coach summer Site Leaders, Sector Leaders, and 85+ seasonal program staff (primarily youth), fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.</li>
<li>Manage partnerships with the City of Boston, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, City of Boston Youth Employment &amp; Opportunity, and Boston After School &amp; Beyond and other community organizations.</li>

Primary Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Participates in the preparation of major water system operations plan, including work sequencing, scheduling and cost estimating, and assists in assembling work order packages.</li>
<li>Carries out written work and operation plans for each water system operations plan.</li>
<li>Prepares daily and weekly job status and time utilization reports to track execution of written work plan. Details include, but are not limited to, crew time productivity, material utilization and costs, equipment utilization and costs, valve data collection information, and valve identification information.</li>
<li>Utilizes computer technology, computerized maintenance management software and other software to perform work order reporting, time utilization, and written work plan completion.</li>
<li>Supervises operation and maintenance of valves to empty, chlorinate, flush, fill, de-chlorinate, and place into service pipelines, reservoirs, aqueducts, storage tanks and standpipes.</li>
<li>Supervises work crew in the exercising, maintenance, repair or alteration of air valves, mainline valves, blow offs, and control valves, and conduct water quality tests within the water system of the MWRA.</li>
<li>Supervises and assists pipe laying and valve installation crews in cutting and laying of pipe, caulking of joints in new construction or repair of water lines within the MWRA system.</li>
<li>Supervises and assists in the installation of taps up to 2" on live and dry mains up to 60" in diameter using the Mueller B-100 and D-5 tapping machines, or equivalent.</li>
<li>Supervises and assists in the installation of insertion valves up to 24" in size on MWRA pipelines.</li>
<li>Supervises and assists in the maintenance of the control valves within the water system including Pressure Reducing Valves, Flow Control Valves, Surge Anticipator Valves, Pressure Sustaining and other head breaking devices etc.</li>
<li>Supervises and assists in the installation of valves including the site preparation and restoration.</li>
<li>Supervises and assists in the replacement of parts such as pinion gears, actuators, gearboxes, stuffing box glands, cleaning, oiling and greasing of related parts.</li>
<li>Supervises and assists in the repair and replacement of manual and automatic air valves.</li>
<li>Drafts clear sketches and drawings of work to be performed and final sketches once work has been completed.</li>
<li>Ensures that assigned staff are working in accordance with Authority and Department safety policies and procedures such as Confined Space Entry, Excavation and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) requirements.</li>
<li>Oversees, measures, and where appropriate, improves assigned work crew productivity.</li>

Required Qualifications
