Contract-to-Hire: 6-Month Contract with Permanent Conversion Opportunity
Overview
We are seeking motivated Entry-Level and Experienced Low Voltage Technicians who are looking to build a long-term career in the structured cabling industry. This role involves installing and supporting low-voltage cabling infrastructure in commercial environments. If you enjoy hands-on work, learning a skilled trade, and working with technology, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career.
Note: This is a low-voltage cabling position and does not provide electrical hours toward an electrician's license.
Responsibilities
- Pull, route, and install CAT5, CAT6, coax, and fiber optic cabling
- Terminate and test low voltage cables
- Perform punch-downs and cable labeling
- Install and dress cables in racks, cabinets, and telecommunications rooms
- Assist with rack-and-stack projects
- Install wireless access points (WAPs), CCTV devices, and related low-voltage systems
- Follow project drawings and installation standards
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Travel directly to job sites and work with project teams to complete installations on schedule
Required Skills
- Structured cabling experience
- CAT5/CAT6 cable installation
- Cable pulling and routing
- Cable termination and punch-downs
- Telecommunications and low-voltage systems knowledge
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Reliable transportation to job sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fiber optic cabling
- Rack-and-stack installation experience
- Experience installing wireless access points or CCTV systems
- OSHA 10 Certification (highly preferred)
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
