Job DescriptionCNC Lathe Machinist – 1st Shift

Location: East Longmeadow MA

**Job Type: **Contract-to-Hire

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position will operate CNC horizontal turning lathes to produce high-volume metal trim components while maintaining quality and production standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on CNC machining experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate equipment efficiently in a production environment. Candidates with CNC setup experience are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC horizontal turning lathes to produce precision metal components.
  • Run production jobs while maintaining quality, accuracy, and productivity standards.
  • Load and unload parts, monitor machine operation, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools and ensure they meet specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and communicate machine or process issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to improve production efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating CNC lathes or CNC turning centers required.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of CNC machine operation, tooling, and inspection methods.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
  • CNC setup experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule & Employment Details

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • Employment Type: 90-Day Contract-to-Hire
