Job DescriptionIndustrial Maintenance Technician – Fabrication & Reliability (Chicopee)

Join our Chicopee team in a full-time, permanent, first-shift role where your hands-on expertise keeps production moving. You’ll blend mechanical know‑how, welding/fabrication, and basic electrical troubleshooting to sustain uptime across our lumber-processing operation.

A Day in the Role

You begin with a floor walk, checking conveyors and saw lines. You’ll schedule preventive maintenance, jump on urgent breakdowns, and fabricate parts when off‑the‑shelf solutions won’t do. By shift’s end, the shop is tidy, equipment is humming, and downtime is minimized.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and corrective repairs on plant machinery and production equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and basic electrical issues to quickly restore operation.
  • Weld, cut, and fabricate components to repair or modify equipment.
  • Execute preventative maintenance plans that drive reliable performance.
  • Service and support conveyors, saws, and other lumber-processing machinery.
  • Uphold a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with welding, fabrication, and cutting (required).
  • Working knowledge of electronics/electrical systems for basic troubleshooting.
  • Prior maintenance background in manufacturing or an industrial setting.
  • Exposure to lumber/wood products operations is a strong plus.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfort working independently and collaborating within a team.
