Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist / Independent Practice Model


A rural, community-focused hospital in Northern Vermont is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its anesthesia team. Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Practice in an independent CRNA model while collaborating with surgical, nursing, and medical staff.
  • Care for a broad patient population, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Support a diverse surgical and procedural caseload, including general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, labor analgesia, urology, ENT, podiatry, endoscopy/GI, dental, and ophthalmology.
  • Perform regional anesthesia and maintain clinical competency across assigned procedures.
  • Complete accurate documentation and participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and peer review initiatives.
  • Work closely with the care team to support safe, efficient anesthesia services.


Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Day shift
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8-hour shifts plus call
  • Must be able to meet call requirements
  • Candidates must live within a reasonable call-response distance from the hospital


Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of a COA-accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
  • Current NBCRNA certification
  • Active Vermont APRN license or eligibility to obtain
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Current DEA registration
  • Ability to meet call requirements
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to high-quality patient care
  • Interest in rural healthcare and community-based practice
