Safety is a core priority, and the technician follows established procedures and best practices while working throughout multiple buildings on the property.

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance team with day-to-day facility upkeep and repair activities across the industrial facility and office spaces.
  • Perform flooring work including tile and carpet repair, replacement, and installation in various areas of the property.
  • Complete drywall and sheetrock tasks such as framing, hanging, taping, and repairing holes or damaged sections of walls.
  • Carry out carpentry tasks, including minor construction, framing, and structural repairs as needed throughout the facility.
  • Handle painting projects, including touch-ups, full wall repainting, and minor aesthetic improvements to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Assist with minor plumbing tasks and basic facility-related repairs within scope of the maintenance team.
  • Perform dock-level maintenance and repairs as needed to keep loading and unloading areas safe and operational.
  • Move furniture and equipment as required to support facility changes, office moves, and workspace reconfigurations.
  • Provide general facility maintenance support, including sweeping, cleaning, wiping down surfaces, and minor lawn care.
  • Assist with snow removal and shoveling in the winter to maintain safe walkways and access points around the property.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on facility components and equipment as directed by the maintenance team.
  • Use hand tools and hand power tools safely and effectively to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including lockout/tagout practices where applicable, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members and communicate issues or needs promptly to keep facilities in optimal condition.
  • Coordinate with external mechanical and electrical contractors when needed, without performing HVAC or electrical work directly.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience with painting, including wall preparation and finishing.
  • Proficiency in drywall and sheetrock repair, including patching holes and restoring wall surfaces.
  • Carpentry skills for minor construction, framing, and structural repairs.
  • Ability to perform flooring work such as tile and carpet repair and replacement.
  • Experience with general facility maintenance and repair tasks in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort using hand tools and hand power tools safely and effectively.
  • Understanding of basic preventive maintenance practices for facilities.
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to following safety procedures, including familiarity with lockout/tagout concepts.
  • Capability to perform minor plumbing tasks within a facilities maintenance setting.
  • Physical ability to move furniture, perform cleaning tasks, and handle outdoor work such as lawn care and snow removal.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior industrial or manufacturing facility experience is highly beneficial.
  • Previous exposure to lockout/tagout procedures is a strong plus.
  • Experience with dock level maintenance and repair is an advantage.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, or scissor lifts is a plus but not required.
  • Facilities maintenance and general building upkeep.
  • Comfort working across multiple buildings and adapting to changing maintenance needs.

Why Work Here?

This role offers a long-term opportunity to become a trusted part of a dedicated maintenance team, providing meaningful support that directly improves the safety, functionality, and appearance of the facilities. Work Environment

The position is based within a manufacturing facility that includes both industrial production areas and office spaces. The Facilities Technician supports all seven buildings on the property, moving between locations as maintenance needs arise.
