Job Position Summary: You are responsible for the process, design, operation, and implementation of manufacturing operations. You will also be responsible to improve manufacturing processes to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability
You must have:
- High School Diploma or GED, an associate degree or higher in related field preferred
- 3+ yrs of experience as a Process or Manufacturing Engineer.
- CAD/CAM experience in NX preferred.
- Experience in the Aerospace Manufacturing industry to include Aerospace standards and specifications.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing outsource processes i.e. Plating, Surface treatments and Heat Treat.
- Working knowledge of work holding methods and fixturing.
- Working knowledge of the inspection process, to verify part compliance.
- Knowledge of CNC programming preferred
- Advance Analytical skills to gather, process and interpret data to solve problems and make decisions.
- Project Management experience, preferred.
- The ability to create step-by-step process in accordance with customer prints and specifications
- Hands on experience and working knowledge of machining and machine capabilities.
- The ability to identify and investigate root causes and solve manufacturing problems.
- The ability to interpret blueprints and knowledge of GD&T
- The ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
- The ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given.
In your role you will:
- Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
- Create, configure, and optimize manufacturing processes from inception through start up to certification.
- Create models, provide process documentation and operating work instructions
- Create Shop Routers and Bill of Materials
- Assess processes, take measurements, and interpret data
- Gather, and analyze in depth data on parts history, trends and defects as required by the process.
- Support any in-process issues on the shop floor.
- Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
- Drive Continuous Improvements increasing productivity, cost-savings within existing processes.
Working Conditions:
- Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
- May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
- May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
