Job DescriptionPosition Overview
The role involves conducting standard imaging examinations in Diagnostic Radiology, both on a scheduled and emergency basis, while adhering to departmental Quality Control and Exam Data Integrity Workflow Standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and review requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, extracting necessary information from patient records to assess the suitability of the prescribed procedure based on the diagnosis and clinical indicators for routine examinations.
- Ensure patient identification in accordance with Hospital Policy using two identifiers.
- Select the appropriate equipment and technical parameters to accurately depict both pathological and normal anatomy.
- Assess the physical and emotional condition of patients and their guardians, determining their ability to follow instructions, and create a tailored care plan to meet their specific needs.
- Clearly explain the examination process and address any questions from patients and their guardians regarding the procedure and radiation exposure, adhering to ALARA principles.
- Comply with the Departmental Quality Control and Data Integrity Workflow.
- Engage in High Reliability Training practices.
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Background training in Diagnostic Radiology is required.
- Licenses/Certifications: A valid MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification are essential.
