Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Physician Assistant Locum Opportunity – Massachusetts


A premier academic healthcare system is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support its Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery service. This inpatient-focused opportunity offers a predictable weekday schedule with no call, nights, weekends, or holiday coverage.


Compensation: Hourly: $130/hr, Overtime: $130/hr, Holiday: $185/hr.


Assignment Details

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks


Schedule

Three 12-hour shifts per week

Monday through Friday coverage

Typical schedule is Wednesday through Friday

Flexibility to cover Monday and Tuesday when needed

No nights

No weekends

No holidays

No call responsibilities


Practice Setting

Hospital-based Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery service

Adult patient population

Epic EMR


Clinical Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physicals

Develop and implement treatment plans

Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies

Prescribe medications and manage ongoing treatment

Perform bedside procedures as appropriate

Monitor patient progress and therapeutic interventions

Coordinate multidisciplinary care and discharge planning

Participate in ongoing evaluation and management of inpatient surgical patients


Patient Volume

Average daily census of approximately 10 patients


Qualifications

Required

Physician Assistant certification

Active Massachusetts license

BLS certification

Epic experience

1–2 years of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery experience

Experience caring for inpatient surgical patients


Credentialing

Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90+ days
