Hours: 40hrs/wk must be local but will have remote flexibility
Duration: 2-3 months for initial implementation 1 year contract
Pay: $60-$70/hr
Start Date: October 5th
Overview:
Seeking a Mid-Level Fortinet Network Engineer to support a multi-site Fortinet deployment across Massachusetts. This role will focus on hands-on network configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and onsite support.
Responsibilities:
- Configure and support FortiGate firewalls and Fortinet network devices
- Assist with firewall deployments, migrations, and network changes
- Configure VPNs, routing, VLANs, and firewall policies
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and security issues
- Support onsite deployment activities and testing
- Work alongside Senior Engineers and client IT teams
- Assist with device configuration, testing, and cutover activities
- Document network configurations and changes
- Provide ongoing support and knowledge transfer to the client IT team
Required Skills:
- 2–5 years of network engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet/FortiGate
- Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs
- Experience with firewall configuration and troubleshooting
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues independently
- Experience working in enterprise or multi-site environments
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work onsite in Massachusetts
Preferred Certifications:
- Fortinet NSE 4 / Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP)
- Fortinet NSE 5
- Cisco CCNA or similar networking certification
Ideal Candidate:
A hands-on network engineer with solid FortiGate experience who can support the senior engineering team, handle day-to-day configuration and troubleshooting, and work directly with the client's IT team during a large-scale deployment.
