Are you an experienced Lead Pressman with a passion for producing high-quality printed packaging and leading a successful press crew? We are looking for a skilled Lead Pressman to oversee the setup, operation, and performance of a multi-color, multi-unit offset printing press while mentoring team members and driving quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
As our Lead Pressman, you will be responsible for safely producing premium paperboard packaging while ensuring every job meets customer specifications for color accuracy, registration, and overall print quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Review job orders, proofs, save sheets, LSDs, and production specifications before every job.
- Lead, direct, and motivate a press crew consisting of a 2nd Pressman and Press Feeder.
- Set up, adjust, and operate a multi-color offset printing press.
- Monitor press performance and make adjustments to maintain print quality and production efficiency.
- Control color to customer specifications using proofs, LSDs, and densitometry equipment.
- Adjust image registration and maintain precise image positioning throughout production.
- Inspect printed materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Troubleshoot press, print quality, and production issues while implementing corrective actions.
- Manage raw material usage and minimize waste.
- Identify, segregate, and communicate non-conforming product.
- Train and mentor crew members while fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
- Set up and operate scanning densitometers when applicable.
- Complete production documentation, including production quantities and material usage.
- Save qualifying "Save Sheets" for each production run.
- Ensure proper line clearance between jobs.
- Return unused raw materials and production documentation to the appropriate inventory and storage locations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Print Technologies to improve quality, productivity, and manufacturing processes.
- Provide performance feedback regarding assigned crew members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For

High school diploma or GED required.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Strong math skills, including fractions and decimals.

Accurate color vision and color discrimination.

Basic computer skills preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Lead Pressman on a multi-color offset printing press producing high-quality 4-color process work (5+ years preferred).

Experience leading, coaching, and developing a press crew.

Strong understanding of:- Offset printing
- Ink and water balance
- Color control and color management
- Registration control

Mitsubishi press experience preferred.

Experience with paperboard packaging, UV inks, in-line coating, and handheld or scanning densitometers preferred.

Spectrophotometer experience is a plus.

Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ability to prioritize work, adapt to changing production demands, and make sound decisions under pressure.
