Job Overview:

I. Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated professional to organize and implement physical therapy programs aimed at facilitating rehabilitation. This role involves guiding clients through specific tasks to restore, enhance, and reinforce their performance. The goal is to teach essential skills that promote independence and productivity, ultimately reducing or correcting physical impairments. Additionally, you will lead activities that support and maintain overall health.

II. Core Competencies

• Conduct diagnostic assessments to evaluate the extent of patients' impairments and their potential for improvement.
• Develop a tailored care plan addressing identified impairments, establishing clear and measurable short- and long-term treatment goals.
• Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches, continuously monitoring patient responses and adjusting treatments as necessary.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care, education provided to patients and families, and service details.
• Oversee and guide supportive staff in assigned tasks, ensuring their competence in performing these duties.
• Work diligently to achieve optimal outcomes for patients.

III. Position Responsibilities

• Assess clients, create appropriate treatment goals and methods, implement the physical therapy plan, and maintain all related documentation. This includes applying therapeutic techniques in areas such as gait, ambulation, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, posture control, sensory awareness, and balance.
• Design and fit adaptive devices, training clients in their use, including orthotics and prosthetics.
• Select suitable physical modalities based on individual needs, physical capabilities, and diagnoses.
• Collaborate with other rehabilitation team members to determine the most effective therapeutic regimen tailored to each client's needs.
• Instruct clients in the skills necessary for mobility activities, while evaluating their progress, attitudes, and behaviors related to rehabilitation.
• Customize treatment programs to align with the unique needs of each client.
• Actively participate in client care discussions, staffing meetings, and related activities.
• Supervise supportive personnel in compliance with state regulations and professional standards.
• Conduct training sessions and assist in educating medical, nursing, and other staff on physical therapy techniques and objectives.
• Ensure that clients and their families receive exceptional service in a compassionate environment that respects individual needs and rights.
• Adapt to staffing needs within therapy programs as required.
• Follow established policies, procedures, and objectives of the organization.

• Demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.

IV. Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Licensure in Massachusetts.

V. Physical Requirements

• Interact with patients in various circumstances, which may involve exposure to unpleasant odors, sights, and sounds.
• Adapt to varying and unpredictable situations.
• Potential exposure to infections, contagious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens.
• Use gloves, gowns, and masks as necessary.
• Engage in prolonged standing or walking.
• Lift, position, transport, and/or transfer patients.
• Lift supplies and equipment as needed.
• Perform considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Salary Range: $86,670.93 - $130,006.92
