This position offers a sign-on bonus of $8,500 (not applicable to internal candidates or individuals who were employed by the organization within the last 12 months).
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Position Overview:
The role involves assembling instrument trays for surgical operations utilizing computerized count sheets, as well as processing instruments for sterilization and distribution.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Transport and replenish surgical instruments and medical supplies within surgical suites and the sterile processing department, adhering to departmental guidelines.
- Receive, sort, clean, and decontaminate used instruments and equipment, accurately logging items as they are received.
- Operate and maintain cleaning and decontamination machinery, including washers, reprocessors, and pasteurizers.
- Inspect, prepare, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and materials, following standardized lists and manufacturer instructions.
- Load, program, and monitor sterilizers during cycles to ensure proper functioning and safety protocols are met.
- Handle telephone communications, providing routine information and directing more complex inquiries to supervisors.
- Provide leadership within the department in the absence of senior staff, organizing daily tasks and prioritizing work to meet clinical demands.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and complete daily shift reports to ensure efficient department operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of two years of experience in sterile processing is required.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Certification as a Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) is required.
