We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night-shift travel assignment in a high-acuity adult critical care environment. This role involves working in a Level 1 trauma and teaching hospital supporting adult ICU and Emergency Department patients. The ideal candidate will have advanced ventilator management expertise, strong trauma and critical care experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting. The position requires flexibility for on-call coverage, weekend rotations, and holiday commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care services for adult critical care and emergency department patients.
- Manage and monitor advanced ventilator support, including Hamilton and Phillips ventilator systems.
- Perform advanced ventilator assessments, including esophageal balloon monitoring, PV loop interpretation, driving pressure assessment, and optimal PEEP management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary critical care teams in trauma, neuro, medical, cardiac, and surgical ICU settings.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and support rapid patient stabilization.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using EPIC EMR.
- Participate in on-call rotations, weekend scheduling, and holiday coverage as required.
- Ensure compliance with all respiratory therapy protocols, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist License required.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
- Current BLS certification from AHA required.
- Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required.
- Recent experience in a Level 1 trauma center and 400+ bed hospital strongly preferred.
- Critical care and teaching hospital experience required.
- Strong background in trauma, neuro, medical, cardiac, and surgical ICU care.
- Experience with advanced ventilator management and critical care respiratory procedures required.
- Proficiency with Hamilton G5, C6, T1, MR1, Phillips EV300, and INO ventilators preferred.
- Experience using EPIC EMR preferred.
- Must be available for night shifts, on-call assignments, weekends, and holiday rotations.

- 13-week contract position (extensions available)
- Shift is 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hrs/week

- Pay Range for Travelers: $2,300 - $2,350 per week
