Compensation & Schedule Details

  • Hours & Shift: Night shift (36 hours per week, 0645–1915 / 1845–0715; Monday–Sunday structure). No block schedules permitted for any reason.
  • \n

  • Contract Length: Urgent start (must start within the next week; active Vermont license or compact license must be on file at submission).
  • \n

  • Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend required (schedule adjusted to unit needs). Must work 2 out of 4 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.
  • \n

  • Tiered Compensation & Travel Rules: Rates are tiered based on direct-line mileage (Travel: 101+ miles; Radius: 51–100 miles; Local: 50 miles or less). Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained, and complete work history (bed count, EMR, facility type) is required. Public transportation is not accessible; personal/rental vehicle with all-season/snow tires required for winter months (Nov–Apr).

Key Facility Policies & Unit Scope

\n

  • Facility Type & Ratios: Critical Access Hospital (25 total facility beds, 17 rooms). Patient ratios are based on acuity, generally 1:4 to 1:5. Floating is strictly voluntary.
  • \n

  • Unit Role & Acuity: Serves as the Code 99, Rapid Response, Fall, and IV team. Patient population includes Med-Surg telemetry, progressive care, ortho, urology, ENT, GYN, and general surgery. Supported by 24/7 hospitalists, lab, X-ray, and respiratory therapy (RT manages vents, nebs, and inhalers). Charting via Epic; medication system via Pyxis.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg telemetry experience required (progressive care experience preferred); prior travel nursing experience required.
  • \n

  • Licensure: Active Vermont (VT) RN license or multi-state compact license must be on file at time of submittal.
  • \n

  • Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS required (NIHSS required prior to start). Recent Epic experience within the past 2 years is non-negotiable.
