Restoration & Reconstruction Technician

Location: Boston – North & South Shore Pay Range: $25.00 – $28.00/hour (based on experience & certifications)

Position Summary

The Restoration & Reconstruction Technician supports field operations by performing mitigation, cleanup, demolition, equipment setup, monitoring, documentation, and basic reconstruction tasks. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with construction or demolition experience who wants to grow in both restoration and rebuild work. Training is provided, and advancement opportunities are strong as the team scales.

This position requires rotating on-call availability.

Key Responsibilities

Mitigation & Remediation

• Deliver professional, empathetic customer service during property damage emergencies
• Assist with on-site assessments and communicate clearly with homeowners and property managers
• Obtain required documents (work authorizations, COS) before beginning work
• Perform mitigation tasks including demolition, cleaning, containment setup, air filtration, odor control, and equipment placement
• Support mold remediation, smoke/soot cleanup, odor removal, and fire damage cleanup
• Document job progress with photos, readings, logs, and notes using company software

Reconstruction

• Perform basic reconstruction tasks such as:
• • Drywall installation and patching
  • Insulation replacement
  • Trim/baseboard installation
  • Light framing repairs
  • Painting and finish work
• Assist with rebuild preparation including debris removal, site cleanup, and material staging
• Maintain jobsite cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout the project
• Support lead technicians and project managers during rebuild phases

General Responsibilities

• Track daily job progress, equipment usage, and site conditions
• Maintain a clean, stocked work vehicle and care for tools/equipment
• Follow RestoPros protocols and IICRC standards for quality and compliance

Qualifications

• Clean driving record (required)
• Construction, demolition, or general labor experience (required)
• Experience in restoration (water, mold, smoke, or fire) preferred; training provided
• Basic carpentry or reconstruction skills strongly preferred
• IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT, AMRT) preferred but not required
• Ability to use job management software and documentation tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
• Professional attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills
• Must pass background check and driving record screening
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites

Physical Requirements

• Lift 50 lbs. regularly (up to 100 lbs. with assistance)
• Work on ladders, in attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas
• Perform physical labor for extended periods (standing, bending, walking, carrying)
• Comfortable with repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, and demolition/reconstruction tasks
