This full-time position extends through the 2026-27 school year (ASAP start through June 2027), offering consistent hours Monday through Friday (35–37.5 hours weekly). The classroom environment is highly personalized, supporting a small group of just three dedicated students this year, allowing you to make significant, meaningful connections and tailor your teaching approach for maximum impact.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience with life skills or intensive needs programming, preferably at the upper elementary/middle school level
- Strong case management skills, including IEP development and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom staff, related service providers, and families
- Creative, flexible approach to individualized instruction and behavior management
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instruction for students with intensive needs in a self-contained setting
- Maintain and monitor IEP goals, documentation, and progress reports
- Manage all case coordination—including meetings, parent communication, and collaboration with general education team members
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment centered on functional life skills, social-emotional growth, and academic development
- Adapt instructional materials and strategies to support varied learning styles and needs
