Description: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- Mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts
- Call required: approximately three weeknights per month (5:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and one weekend day per month (Saturday or Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
Role Overview
The Operating Room Registered Nurse performs the role of Circulating Nurse while functioning as a patient advocate for the anesthetized patient. The OR RN is responsible for providing safe and effective care to the surgical patient while meeting their physiologic and functional needs.
The OR RN interacts with those within any of the following populations: pre-natal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and with those of adult age on an inter-disciplinary level. He or she must be able to effectively interact appropriate to the individual's intellectual level and physical ability.
Required Certifications
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
Required Experience
- One (1) to three (3) years of Operating Room experience
