This surgical unit comprises 30 beds dedicated to General Surgery, catering to patients from infancy through adulthood. Our patient population includes individuals from various surgical specialties, with admissions coming from the PACU, MICU, NICU, direct admissions, and the Emergency Room. Our surgical teams prioritize family-centered care, addressing a wide spectrum of diagnoses, from straightforward to intricate cases. This environment offers a dynamic opportunity for professional development, as we continually strive to innovate in our programs, such as those focused on Intestinal Failure and Esophageal Atresia.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Providing care for patients primarily in General Surgery and other surgical specialties, with admissions from the PACU, MICU, NICU, direct admits, and the Emergency Room.
- Implementing family-centered care approaches for a diverse range of diagnoses.
- Committing to a schedule of 36 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour night shifts, including every third weekend.
Essential Qualifications Education:
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience as a registered nurse in an inpatient acute care setting.
- Experience in pediatrics is preferred.
Licensure / Certifications:
- Current RN licensure in Massachusetts.
