Job DescriptionDepartment Overview:

Our 25-bed inpatient medical unit, operational around the clock, provides care for patients of all ages facing a variety of health challenges, including general medical issues, gastroenterology, pulmonary conditions, immunology, rheumatology, metabolic disorders, toxicology, and behavioral health concerns. Registered nurses play a pivotal role in coordinating care within a multidisciplinary team. They collaborate closely with various clinical professionals such as physicians, pharmacists, social workers, clinical assistants, child life specialists, behavioral health experts, nutrition support staff, physical therapists, nurse practitioners, and pastoral care providers to address the comprehensive needs of patients. This encompasses assessment, planning, monitoring, physical care, medication management, pain relief, patient and family education, discharge planning, and ongoing evaluation of care.

Primary Duties:

• Delivering family-centered care in our inpatient medical unit, which caters to patients with multisystem disorders, developmental and cognitive delays, as well as general medical, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and behavioral health issues.

• Working a schedule of 36 hours, including rotating shifts of days and nights, with every other weekend required.

Essential Qualifications Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience as a registered nurse in an inpatient (acute care) setting is required.
• 2-3 years of RN experience is preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Active Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
