Job Title: Ultrasound Tech
Location: Hyannis, MA
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Flex Shift | Days & Evenings | Monday–Friday | 40 hours/week
Local Candidates Required: N/A
Traveler Candidates Required: Yes
Shift Times: Rotating 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, and 4:00 PM–12:00 AM
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday

Pay Rate

  • Traveler: $2,400–$2,700/weekly

Required Qualifications

  • Credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Registered in both Abdomen and OB/GYN by ARDMS
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • All certifications and registrations must be active and current
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and equipment
  • Ability to provide safe, comfortable, and professional patient care during examinations

Responsibilities

  • Set up ultrasound equipment and prepare patients for examinations
  • Select the appropriate transducer type and frequency for each examination
  • Obtain, review, and retrieve pertinent patient history, physical examination information, and supporting clinical data
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices as needed to obtain optimal diagnostic views
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation
  • Provide for the physical and psychological needs of patients while ensuring safety and comfort
  • Requisition supplies, equipment, maintenance, and repair services as needed
  • Coordinate work activities to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Evaluate ultrasound images for technical quality
  • Maintain accurate radiology records and properly label images for patient identification
  • Assist physicians with special ultrasound procedures and needle biopsies
  • Support didactic and/or clinical education within the ultrasound program
  • Maintain knowledge of departmental and hospital policies and procedures
  • Comply with infection control, fire, and disaster-preparedness policies and procedures
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education activities
  • Maintain ethical relationships with patients, physicians, personnel, and guests
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Provide service excellence to patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and coworkers in accordance with Cape Cod Hospital's CARES values
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
