Aegis Worldwide is partnering with a specialized aerospace manufacturing facility in West Springfield, MA, to hire an experienced

Senior Tool & Die Maker / Specialized Machinist

!

This is a hands-on position within a highly specialized manufacturing operation supporting aerospace and defense applications.

We're looking for someone with extensive manual machining experience who can independently manufacture, modify, and repair precision tooling with minimal supervision.

**Responsibilities

**

• Set up and operate manual mills, Bridgeports, and lathes.

• Manufacture custom tooling, jigs, fixtures, and precision work-holding devices.

• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.

• Machine precision components to tight tolerances.

• Repair and modify existing tools, gauges, and fixtures.

• Troubleshoot tooling and machining issues independently.

• Perform precision measurements and verify completed work.

• Support specialized aerospace manufacturing and welding operations.

**Qualifications

**

• 15–20+ years of manual machining, toolmaking, or closely related precision manufacturing experience preferred.

• Extensive experience with Bridgeport mills and manual lathes.

• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurement.

• Experience manufacturing custom jigs, fixtures, and tooling.

• Ability to independently perform machine setups and troubleshoot problems.

• Aerospace, defense, or precision welding-related manufacturing experience preferred.

• Comfortable working in a small, hands-on manufacturing environment.

• Must be capable of working independently with minimal training.

**Schedule

• 1st Shift

• Monday–Friday

• 8-hour shifts
