Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Shift: 3rd Shift – 9:30 PM–6:00 AM
Hours: 40 hours per week
Employment Type: W-2 Temporary Contract

Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Molding Press Operator to join an industrial abrasives manufacturing operation in Worcester, Massachusetts.
This position is responsible for operating hydraulic, robotic, and/or manual presses and molding equipment to form abrasive materials into specified shapes.
The Molding Press Operator uses established manufacturing procedures, pressing techniques, and measuring tools to produce molded components that meet product specifications.
The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, machine operation, molding, or press operation and is comfortable working with industrial equipment, hand tools, and precision measurements.
Key ResponsibilitiesMolding & Press Operations

Operate or assist with hydraulic, robotic, and manual molding presses.

Use established molding procedures to form basic product shapes.

Compact prepared material mixes into molds using appropriate pressing techniques.

Follow production instructions and established manufacturing procedures.

Apply different molding methods based on material and product requirements.

Utilize appropriate pressing and finishing techniques for assigned products.

Support consistent production quality and proper product formation.
Material Handling & Preparation

Work with different molding materials and prepared mixes.

Recognize basic differences between material types and product characteristics.

Select and apply appropriate molding techniques based on established procedures.

Prepare materials and equipment for assigned molding operations.

Use a tamping gun and other tools as required during molding.
Quality Control & Measurement

Perform basic density testing on initial molded pieces.

Conduct single-point density checks to evaluate product conformity.

Verify that molded products meet established tolerances and specifications.

Use measuring tools to inspect molded components.
-
Identify potential quality concerns related to molding, pressing, or finishing.
-
Follow established quality procedures throughout production.
Equipment & Tool Operation

Operate or tend industrial molding and pressing equipment.

Use a variety of hand tools and power tools.

Utilize tamping guns and other molding tools.

Apply established equipment operating procedures.

Follow safe operating practices when working with presses and production machinery.
Required Qualifications

Basic understanding of manufacturing or molding processes.

Ability to learn and apply different molding and pressing techniques.

Ability to distinguish between basic material mixes and product characteristics.

Ability to operate or learn to operate hydraulic, robotic, or manual press equipment.

Ability to use measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools.

Ability to perform basic density checks and understand production tolerances.

Basic math skills for manufacturing measurements and quality checks.

Ability to follow production instructions and established operating procedures.

Strong attention to detail and product quality.

Ability to work the required overnight shift.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a Molding Operator, Press Operator, Machine Operator, or Production Operator.

Experience operating hydraulic presses or industrial molding equipment.

Experience in abrasives, ceramics, composites, or related manufacturing.

Familiarity with molding materials, material compaction, or pressing processes.

Experience using precision measuring tools.

Experience performing basic product quality inspections.
