Key Responsibilities\n

    \n
  • Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU at a Level III Trauma Center, managing a wide range of adult diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, DKA, GI bleed, cardiac arrest, renal failure, cardiogenic shock, and substance abuse/overdose
  • \n

  • Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 for high-acuity ICU patients
  • \n

  • Read and interpret telemetry strips accurately
  • \n

  • Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing up to 4–5 patients per assignment
  • \n

  • Document all patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
  • \n

  • Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours per day
  • \n

Required Qualifications\n

    \n
  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • \n

  • Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU (MICU) experience
  • \n

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • \n

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • \n

  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • \n

  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
  • \n

Preferred Experience / Skills\n

    \n
  • 2+ years of continuous experience in a single MICU setting
  • \n

  • Prior experience floating to Medical/Surgical units
  • \n

  • Comfort managing high-acuity patients with complex, multi-system diagnoses
  • \n
