Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring an active MA RN license and telemetry reading skills.

  • Emergency Department setting within a Level I Trauma Center
  • \n

  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • \n

  • Union facility requiring availability to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations
  • \n

  • Shift start time may flex up to 4 hours earlier or later only for urgent staffing needs
  • \n

  • Contract lengths range from 13 to 26 weeks with 36 or 48 hours per week options
  • \n

  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • \n

  • Telemetry reading required
  • \n

  • Care for ventilated patients and manage cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • \n

  • Exposure to Psych/Behavioral Health ED cases
  • \n

  • Triage skills required
  • \n

Requirements\n

    \n
  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • \n

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
  • \n

  • Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of RN experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • \n

  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • \n

  • Must be able to read telemetry
  • \n

  • Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and a telemetry exam during orientation, each with only 1 attempt allowed
  • \n

  • Two professional references required, at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
  • \n

  • No prior disciplinary actions on nursing license permitted
  • \n

Additional Information\n

    \n
  • Deliver emergency nursing care including respiratory support, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and patient triage
  • \n

  • Multiple study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews to support exam preparation
  • \n

  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with none allowed during the first week of assignment
  • \n

  • Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and 26-week contract commitments
  • \n

  • One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) must be included in RTO
  • \n

  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • \n

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • \n

  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
  • \n

  • Compliance documentation due one full week prior to start date
  • \n

  • Pre-start and orientation modules required, with additional modules completed annually
  • \n
