Step into a vital, full-time contract role for the 2026-2027 school year, working closely with students from Pre-K through 6th grade. You'll collaborate with dedicated educators and specialists, assisting children with a range of disabilities and playing an essential part in their academic and social growth.
What we're seeking:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, education assistant, or classroom aide preferred
- Confidence supporting children with varied disabilities, including those with behavioral and mobility needs
- Ability to foster trust and communication with students, staff, and families
- Strong observation skills and a patient, compassionate attitude
- Willingness to adapt strategies and provide individualized attention as needed
- Flexibility and teamwork mentality in dynamic school settings
Your role will include:
- Offering daily classroom and individualized support to students
- Assisting students with behavioral needs, reinforcing positive behavior interventions
- Supporting safe mobility throughout the school day, including transitions between activities
- Implementing educational plans under the direction of certified teachers and special education staff
- Collaborating on strategies that enable student participation and progress
- Maintaining documentation and communicating student progress to the team
- Providing personal care, prompts, or physical assistance based on individual student requirements
