Job DescriptionPosition Overview

• Our Pediatric Medical/Surgical Float pool presents a distinctive chance to enhance your pediatric expertise by caring for patients across various inpatient units. Each shift offers diversity and the opportunity to collaborate with new team members while acquiring and refining skills. The orientation period lasts around 12 weeks, featuring guidance from both Float Pool and Unit-Based mentors.

Primary Duties

• Delivering proficient nursing care to patients ranging from newborns to adults and their families in all inpatient environments, including surgical, medical, oncology, bone marrow transplant, intermediate care, neuroscience, cardiology, Behavioral Health Emergency Department, and Inpatient Psychiatry units.
• Possibility of cross-training in additional areas such as various procedural units and the Emergency Department.
• Providing family-centered care as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering expert services.
• Thriving in a dynamic, collaborative setting with numerous opportunities for professional development and learning, supported by a comprehensive orientation tailored to individual needs.
• Engaging in hospital-wide committees and mentoring new staff and nursing students.

Essential Qualifications Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Experience:

• At least 1 year of inpatient acute care RN experience is required, with a preference for a diverse range of diagnoses. Pediatric RN experience is also preferred.
• Willingness to work 50% Day/Night rotations, every third weekend, and flexibility in availability is essential. Options for straight night shifts with every third weekend are also available, with schedules of 24, 30, or 36 hours.

Licensure and Certifications

• Active Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN).

***Additional $8.00/hour incentive for all clinical hours worked.
