Job Summary
The Quality Inspector ensures incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet engineering, customer, and quality standards. This role utilizes precision measuring tools, blueprint interpretation, and detailed documentation to support high-quality manufacturing for defense, marine, and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished products for compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and document results.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, optical comparators, and scales.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection reports, quality records, and nonconformance documentation (NCRs).
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Follow ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system requirements.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to track inspections and maintain records.
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience using precision measurement equipment and reading engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and mechanical inspection processes.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school training or related education.
- Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 environments.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) experience.
- Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Work Environment
Modern manufacturing environment supporting composites, machining, fabrication, and assembly operations. The role requires standing for extended periods, using inspection equipment, handling parts and materials, and working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, quality-focused setting.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stoughton, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
