Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Paraprofessional/Education Assistant supporting students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract role begins on September 2, working closely with a diverse student population with a variety of disabilities in an engaging school setting near Lowell, MA. Your commitment will provide essential assistance to teachers and individualized support to students, making a real impact in their educational journey.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or education assistant in a school environment
- Strong skills in supporting children with mild to significant disabilities
- Comfort with providing both behavior and mobility assistance
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and related services staff
- Excellent communication, patience, and flexibility working with elementary-aged children
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented work ethic
- Availability to start the school year on September 2 and work full time based on the school calendar
Daily responsibilities include:
- Providing one-on-one and group support to students with various learning, behavioral, and physical needs
- Assisting with mobility tasks, implementing behavior interventions, and supporting daily routines
- Adapting classroom materials and instructional methods to individualize student success
- Promoting a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Supporting teachers in lesson implementation and classroom management
- Participating in team meetings and professional development as required
