Direct Counsel is seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney with 5–7 years of experience to join a leading Am Law 100 law firm and its highly regarded Business Litigation practice.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling complex commercial litigation, with additional experience in shareholder disputes, white collar matters, and internal investigations. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-level matters while collaborating with and overseeing junior attorneys and business professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in complex commercial litigation matters.
  • Handle shareholder disputes and other high-stakes business disputes.
  • Assist with white collar matters and internal investigations.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
  • Manage project-based assignments and multiple high-priority matters simultaneously.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and clients on sophisticated litigation matters.
  • Oversee and mentor junior associates and business professionals.
  • Maintain consistently high-quality work product while managing competing deadlines.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to develop effective strategies and practical solutions.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of significant litigation experience at a comparable law firm.
  • Strong background in complex commercial litigation.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Shareholder disputes
    • White collar matters
    • Internal investigations
  • Proven ability to manage project-based assignments and multiple sophisticated matters.
  • Experience working with and overseeing junior associates and business professionals.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong judgment and attention to detail.
  • High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice in Massachusetts, or eligibility for admission, required.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $365,000–$420,000 annually, depending on geographic location, applicable experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
